The Wild Yampa: A river flowing through our public lands

Friends of the Yampa partnered with Steamboat Springs artist Jill Bergman to promote advocacy through art centered around the Yampa River. We hosted two community art nights — one in Craig and one is Steamboat — where participants shared their love for the Yampa River, its public lands and wildlife using linocut stamps, markers, pens, pencils and more. We also did a call for art from female artists to use in a publication.

The publication uses poetry, photography, paintings, prose, pen drawings and myriad other forms of art to celebrate the Yampa River. From elementary school students to adults, this project impacted all ages in the search to share what we all love about the wild Yampa River!
